what does it mean to miss someone.....
in french the verb "manquer" means to lack something, so when you say "tu me manques" it really means "you are lacking to me" or "i am lacking you" "i am without you"
i guess in english it means that someone is missing to you, like when you lose something you say "something's missing..."

you're missing to me baby....

there really is no word in the english language so powerful as to express that emotion...
